Birthdays!

May is our super special month, with Kaylin and Ryans' birthdays and our anniversary. Busy, busy, busy.

Starting off the month was Kaylin's 5th birthday. She's super excited to start school in the fall. Spencer is too. He's absolutely certain he's going to school with Kaylin. They both talk about getting to ride the school bus to school in the morning.

Kaylin actually got to celebrate her birthday three different times... Her birthday lasted for about a week. Here is her first birthday celebration, the Saturday before her birthday my parents and brother and sisters came over so we had chocolate chip cookies and opened presents.

On Kaylin's actual birthday we invited one of Kaylin's friends, Morgan, along with her family, who are also friends of ours, over to help us eat the cake. Ryan's birthday is only two days after Kaylin's, which amounts to a lot of cake. Ryan says he doesn't need his own cake, but everyone is entitled to have their own cake for their birthday in my opinion.

After Kaylin's little party was over, we had her get ready for bed and right before she was supposed to go to bed, remembered she hadn't opened her presents. Ooops. So she got to open them in her jammies.

Ryan's parents came over that weekend and Kaylin got Hungry Hippos. The kids love it, even Jeran. Ryan and I think its a too noisy, but we're parents so we don't count.

Jeran's favorite thing was the bow from Kaylin's present. It not only had curly ribbons, but a plastic bubble-thing filled with glitter and confetti.

Ryan's birthday party. His cake had so many candles the frosting started to melt. Ryan said he didn't need any candles, but if he was going to have some, it had to be all 28 ( he didn't think I had that many...wah ha ha.) Kaylin and Spencer had a lot of fun stabbing all the candles into the cake.

Granna took some great pictures of the kids in the backyard after church. Kaylin says they were looking at a bee in the grass. Yes, I have a lot of dandelions in my yard, as is evidenced by the many in Grandpa Jerry's pocket. The kids picked him a bouquet of them for Mothers' Day.

I definitely don't approve of Kaylin hanging in a tree in her Sunday dress, especially since I made it, but its a cute picture.

I've been meaning to take pictures of Kaylin in the dresses I've made for her but just haven't gotten around to it. So here's the first, and hopefully not the last.
