'Tis the Season...

Christmas is almost here and the kids are ecstatic. We've finally gotten our Christmas tree up and decorated. We usually put it up around Thanksgiving, but due to an unfortunate accident, our Christmas tree didn't survive last year and we had to get a new one. Our nativity is up and our window is painted, courtesy of our resident artist, Ryan.

It's been snowing for the last several days. We actually had a bit of a snow storm and the power went out for awhile. That was fun. We suddenly realized what a good idea it would be to get some firewood.

The kids are growing like weeds. Kaylin and Spencer seem to be growing at about the same rate, Spencer hasn't quite managed to surpass Kaylin in height. Jeran is almost five months old and weighed 16 lbs at his last well check. He rolls over from his back to stomach, which makes him mad since he doesn't roll from his stomach to his back yet. He enjoys drooling and sitting up.

Our most exciting news though, is that Spencer, for the most part, is potty trained. Yay! He wears a diaper to bed so Ryan and I don't have to wake up at 3 a.m. to change sheets in case he has an accident. It was frustrating, but I'm very grateful that its done.

Spencer was playing Heman/Starwars. He says "By the power of Greyskull" as he raises aloft his "magic" sword in one hand and swings his light sabre with the other.

Jeran, our resident super hero in disguise.
Our first official snow of December.

The kids had a lot of fun trudging through the snow. They tried to build a snow man but the snow was too powdery.

Kaylin supervised the hanging of our stockings up by the chimney.

Kaylin and Spencer were so excited to decorate our Christmas tree. They really liked to put two or three ornaments on the same branch.

Jeran was asleep so he missed decorating the tree, but here are the rest of us at the conclusion of family night a.k.a. tree decorating and window painting.

Much to our frustration, whenever we try to take pictures of Kaylin, she give us fake smiles, here is one of her real ones.

If you look really close you can see a smiley face.

Hey guys, looks festive and fun at your place! Our kids are so close to the same ages that it seems like we're doing all the same stuff. Too bad we don't live closer. We're doing teh same...Christmas, Christmas, Christmas...ya, snow was too powdery here too. Luke was sadly disspaointed. He would LOVE to play Heman with Spencer!

I just found your blog. I went to HS with Ryan and it's fun to read what your family is up to. Your kids are adorable!
I went to your reception too. Glad to see you are doing well and hope it's okay to catch up this way.
